Case Summary | After my baby my back was so sore
| Condition | Back General Postpartum Back Pain |
| Case Description | During my pregnancy I had read that many expecting mothers have trouble with back pain. For me my back felt okay while carrying my baby , but after delivery I was plagued with back pain in the lumbar that was similar to sciatica. Sciatica is a general term that means one or all of the five root nerves are being irritated and cause you pain and discomfort. Generally after giving birth they say that you should stay away from heavy exercise because your body can't recover from all of it's changes and the trauma of the child birth. The first thing my chiropractor told me to do to help my problem was to begin to lose a little weight and then after a week or two I started on some light stretching to begin to tone and loosen those muscle weakened by giving birth. This relieved some of my pain , but i still had some problems so i decided to try a aquatic aerobics class at our local Y. This really relieved the tension on my nerves and allowed my body to heal. Soon after this I was able to do some walking without intense pain. Finally I have tried some isometric exercises that use the bodies weight and put little or no stress on your back and skeletal system. Just now three months after giving birth to my darling daughter I'm able to really enjoy being a parent and can rest without pain. The healing process is a long one and I'm still in the healing process. |
