Case Summary | Back pain and pelvic ligament pain
| Condition | Hip Ischial Tuberosity |
| Case Description | Today, I think the PT doctor was accurate in pointing out that my problem stems from weak core muscles, back and abs. My pelvic frame is loose from years of gynnamstics and yoga and consequently, long 22 mile runs have caused serious damage, which over years of pain, has had a ripple effect on the ligaments within my pelvic girdle. My orthoped told me that there was nothing he could for me at this point, other than surgery, which I really don't think I need, but the daily pain is frustrating. I have it on both sides, where the ischium and the hamstring attach. I have found that walking - long walks - and the more activity I have the better it feels, so long as it's activity that does not inflame those areas. Running hurts. The stretching that the PT had me do made it worse, in terms of pain and my tolerance for activity after doing them. I continue to walk and stretch, trying to strengthen my core and the affected areas while being careful not to make it worse. I injured myself while training for a marathon. It started as back pain and progressed into the typical runner's issues with IT band pain. |

| Description | After having to put away my running shoes, I sought medical attention, got an MRI for my back and was prescribed PT. I saw a chiropractor as well, but nothing seemed to help and the MRI was not conclusive in dealing with my daily pain. |
