Case Summary  |  Back Pain

Condition Back Upper - Neck (Cervical) Muscle Strain
Case Description

One morning around 3am I woke up in severe pain, which was located in my mid and upper back. I could not fall back to sleep, and pain relievers did no good. It seemed to fade once I got up and moved on with my day, but the pain woke me up again and again at about the same time. it was impossible for me to treat. One day my mother heard me crying in my room and asked what was wrong. I told her the problem and she insisted on taking me to a doctor against my will. however, I was glad that she did. My pediatrician sent me to an orthopedic surgeon who referred me to a great physical therapist just a block from my home. After prescribing the above described treatments, I was healed completely within three weeks.

After going to a physical therapist as recommended by my doctor, i followed the above hesitant recommendations and they all worked marvelously. I swam every night to relieve nightly pain, as well as did yoga. Sleeping on my back seemed more comfortable, and the strengthening exercises (which consisted of using a resistance band) were great and efficient.
