Case Summary | Bruised Kneecap
| Condition | Knee Bruised Kneecap |
| Case Description | I walked outside my workplace to my car in the winter when I lived in Chicago, and it was dark. I walked onto a section of black ice on the sidewalk, and my foot landed okay, but when I pushed off, it slipped and I went down on my right knee. It almost felt like I could feel my kneecap compress, and then bounce back up again. I had pain, stiffness, and sometimes weakness in that knee for the next few days. The doctor examined it (it was a little black and blue) and took an x-ray, saying it was a bruised kneecap. I was told to put ice on it for 5-10 minutes a few times a day, and to stay off of the leg for a few days. Gradually, my knee stopped hurting and got stronger. |
