Case Summary  |  Chronic Headache and Migraines related to poor posture

Condition Head Chronic Headache
Case Description

I started having headaches around the time my menstrual cycle began which was when I was thirteen years old. In my twenties, however, I began to experience an increased amount of headaches. I began to have headaches everyday and often these daily headaches would turn into debilitating migraines. Taking advice from a few friends, I decided to seek treatment from a chiropractor. He took x-rays and his take on my condition was that it was a result of years of poor posture. Thus, I began a treatment plan at the chiropractor’s office that consisted of three visits per week for a period of three months. Each session consisted of hands on chiropractic, spinal adjustments, inversion, and traction exercises. At intervals of about three weeks, I would fill out a form describing my status of headache related pain. At the end of this three-month session I did feel some, however, not complete relief. Today I continue to see the chiropractor on a less frequent schedule due to financial and school related issues. In hopes to find more accessible relief on my type of schedule I have recently sough the help of a neurologist and am currently taking 25 mg of amitriptyline a night for the daily headaches. Currently I experience still chronic headaches, however, they are much less severe and rarely evolve into migraines.
