Case Summary  |  Daily Headaches

Condition Head Chronic Headache
Case Description

I began experiencing daily headaches starting in the spring of 2009. This headaches were especially sensitive to the touch and I began to worry. I had always used Excedrin Migraine and it had worked up to this point, but it didn't even lessen the pain for this new type of headache I was experiencing. I tried cold compresses and a good diet, but that didn't work. I thought maybe it was my bad posture, but correcting it didn't do anything.

I went to my doctor and he sent me for an MRI, because he thought it might be multiple sclerosis or another nerve disorder. Thank goodness the test came back fine, but the pain still remained.

I got a second opinion and the doctor told me allergies. I was surprised at this diagnosis, since I had never had allergies before. She assured me that sometimes these things just pop up out of nowhere! She prescribed Xyzal and a nose spray. The headaches are still there, but they are weakened substantially. I hope one day that I will be able to get rid of them for good!
