Case Summary  |  Hip Bursitis

Condition Hip Bursitis
Case Description

Was sitting in an easy chair when I first got piercing pains in my hips! Went to the dr. about my tennis elbow and asked about this pain and was diagnosed with bursitis of the hip. Couldn't think what could have caused it. Only thing I could think of that I had done differently was practicing for a Charleston dance at church. Go figure? Anyway got a cortisone shot the same time I got operated on for my tennis elbow :June 29, 2009. Pain came back almost immediately after the medications wore off from the surgery! Tried physical therapy, ice therapy, ultrasound and all they had. Nothing really helped. Was on Naproxen for a while and then switched to IBprofen and sudafedamine (?) Got tired of taking all the medications so just stopped taking them. Right not the pain is tolerable but I always know it is there. I guess the thing which has worked the best for me is the stretching exercises I do for it. I do 4 stretches for it a day. And, now this isn't medical, but a glass of wine sure helps me forget the pain!!!
