it's been twelve years since the surgery and even longer since original injury. The knee, although not as good as the other one, feels great. I am still curious if it's going to wear out sooner then the left one.

Description

Right knee is still not as flexible as the left one. Medial side of the knee can get very sore walking up or down steep hills or doing knee extensions at the gym. Running does not cause pain for about a mile and half as long as its done on soft surface.

Description

Possible compensation injury. Upper right hamstring/lower back pain. Possible piriformis muscle tear. It took about a year an half for this side to feel better.

Description

It took about a year for the kneeto feel normal but not as flexible as before the surgery. It gets very sore during flexion. For example, the stretch where you bring the foot to the buttock.

Four weeks of physical therapy helps regain some flexibility and strength. The muscle loss after the surgery was significant (about 50%).

MRI shows damage to medial meniscus of the right knee. Orthopedic surgeon recommends arthroscopic surgery. The surgeon said that he did not remove meniscus, just cleaned up scar tissue.

Original injury occurred doing squats in the gym. A couple of hours after a workout, sharp pain in the medial side of the right knee

Rehabilitation through exercises strengthens the muscles, but does not get rid of the pain. Can do many activities including running Treatment: physical therapy Result.
