Case Summary  |  Knee Pain from Exercise Injury

Condition Knee Pain
Case Description

I was trying to lose weight by doing kick boxing. I had lost over 20 pounds. However, one day I kicked and my left knee popped. I could not bend it after I heard the noise. The pain was awful. It swelled up and I did not think I would be able to walk again. I did not see a doctor, but I did not exercise or walk on the knee too much until it started feeling a little better. Ever since this incident, I cannot run or do activities that require a lot of movement in my knee. It usually swells up the next day after these activities. I have found that medication and rest are the best methods of making it get better. I am more careful and I am aware of the signs that my knee is starting to get irritated again.

I lost some weight and the reduced strain on my knees helped a little. The medications and rest helped as well. Walking helped because it was a better alternative to the exercise I was using.
