Condition Back Lower (Lumbar) Pain
Case Description

There is a long history of back problems in my family, and being so I threw out my back for the first time at the age of 23. It took me about two weeks to realize that the pain was not going to go away on it's own, regardless of how much ice or heat I put on it myself. I decided to see a chiropractor who used the Activator method over a period of four or five visits to adjust my spine and at the end of every visit I would be given a TENS treatment as well. During this time I was instructed by the chiropractor to avoid lifting heavy objects (items over 20-30 lbs), wearing high-heeled shoes, and sleeping on my back. Overall the treatment was very effective. At the end of my treatment the chiropractor gave me a list of exercises that I could easily to do strengthen my back. On my own I also decided to take a glucosamine supplement to aid with joint functionality. I have not been back to the chiropractor since, but I listed this as an ongoing problem because I still get back pains, however not intense enough for me to seek medical attention.
