Case Summary  |  Lower (Lumbar) Pinched Nerve

Condition Back Lower (Lumbar) Pinched Nerve
Case Description

Because I was in the US Army, with chest out and stomach in, this posture curves my lower back if not noticed. I just need to rotate my hips rearward to make my lower back straight. My right front thigh was cold, numb, and a bit of tingling. My self diagnosis lead no where: was it my menthol cigarette smoking that made less blood flow, or something to do with my bad right knee cartilage problem? The answer was it was neither.

My family doctor knew right away that it was my lower back that had a pinched nerve. He said for me to do some exercises that would help to straighten my back out. The first one is to lay on the floor on my back and bring my knees to my chest with my arms to help. The second exercise is to stand on one foot and bring the other foot on the counter, and slowly bring my upper torso forward. Then switch legs to the other leg on the counter. Wow, that was the answer to take the kinks out of my back, or to get those pinched nerves un-pinched.

I don't have any coldness or numbness in my leg anymore.
