Case Summary  |  Mid-back pain

Condition Back Mid (Thoracic) Pain
Case Description

The back pain that I experience has been with me most of my life. It is a pain that is on the left side of my back - in a small spot next to my spine. It seems to get worse after long car rides or after sitting in an uncomfortable chair for a long time - but it doesn't seem to hurt or bother me while I jog or do intensive labor. It is a strange and irritating problem.
I first noticed it around high school and I complained to my Mother who was a nurse. She told me that it was a growing pain and not to worry about it. When I became 21 the pain was still there so I went to see a Doctor. He told me to do some yoga type stretches and take ibuprofen. I have been doing both of these for a few years now - the pain hasn't gone away but it feels better after I do stretch or take ibuprofen.
Ideally I'd like it taken care of for good - but with my health insurance being pretty lousy - I'm stuck with stretching for now (which does work great).
