Case Summary  |  Migraine Headaches

Condition Neurological Migraine
Case Description

I have had migraine headaches 3-4 times a month for approximately 5 years. I am 52 years old. The headaches are excruciating and often require me to miss work or activities because I need to stay in bed. I would use prescription medications for migraines that were triptans and they would work well on the migraine but made me sick to my stomach and dizzy for several hours. I finally found wonderful relief with a prescription migraine prevention medication called topamax. I take it twice a day and it prevents migraines from happening. I have not had a migraine for over a year. This has changed the quality of my life and I don't worry anymore about upcoming events or special occasions being ruined by a migraine.
