Case Summary  |  Partial knee replacement

Condition Knee Osteoarthritis
Case Description

When I was a teenager, I tore the left miniscus so badly that it had to be completely removed. In my mid-20s, I partially tore the ligament. In my early 40s, I gained weight from a combination of factors and started to have bone rubbing on bone. After a couple of cortisone injections, I had a knee manicure and the following year, I had a partial replacement of that knee on that side.

The knee replacement surgery slowed me down enough to have me gain weight, which has put a lot of strain on both knees, but the left one is starting to fall apart completely, with the osteoarthritis really starting to kick in and the bone rubbing on bone.

I need to lose weight which is difficult because walking hurts.
