Case Summary  |  Pesky knee problems

Condition Knee Pain
Case Description

I am 24 years old, and have had a persistent problem in both of my knees since I was about 10 years old. It is a steady pain in both of my knees, and it occurs mostly at night. It also usually occurs during very cold weather, rainy weather, or when I've spent most of the day walking on hard surfaces. It causes my knees to swell and ache, and sometimes make a popping sound. I have been to doctors and they don't really know what it is. My brother and my mother both have knee problems, but they don't describe their problems as I do mine. Like I said before, the pain doesn't occur every day, so I'm not in constant pain, which is what doctors say confuses them. I usually try sleeping with a pillow between my knees, which sometimes helps.

Description

I tried using a knee brace when I knew I would be walking a lot, but it neither helped or hurt the condition.
