Case Summary  |  Pinched nerve in neck

Condition Back Upper - Neck (Cervical) Pinched Nerve
Case Description

I was at home one day when my son needed something. I jumped up from where I was sitting and turned my head to the side to look at him. I immediately felt a sharp zing that hurt and went from my neck up into my head. It was not a feeling I had ever experienced before. Once I felt it once, it happened several times over the next few days. I ended up going to the doctor and being diagnosed with a pinched nerve in my neck. More testing revealed that I had bone spurs. According to my doctors, they were not bad enough that I needed surgery. However, sometime in the future I might require surgery. All I had to do was put ice packs on my neck every few hours, rest, and try to move my neck as minimally and gently as possible. These things did help and after about a week, I was no longer having any pain in my neck.
