Case Summary  |  seborrheic dermatitis

Condition Skin Seborrheic Dermatitis - Cradle cap
Case Description

The spring of 1987 I noticed that my scalp was getting spots on it that were itchy and red. They peeled off like I had a sunburn. They gradually got worse and I was forced to see our family physician. He felt I had seborrheic dermatitis and that it could be treated with shampoo and an ointment. As long as I have my prescription shampoo I do not have a problem with the condition. Head and Shoulders intensive care shampoo works in a pinch. I still have problems with it, especially in the winter when we are using dry heat. But, it is not like it was that summer. I am thankful that I was able to get it diagnosed and treated at such a young age.

The Skin ointment prescribed by the doctor healed the places I had on my face and around my hair line. The shampoo keeps the condition under control and generally healed.
