Case Summary | Slipped disk. OH NO!!
| Condition | Back Lower (Lumbar) Herniated Disk |
| Case Description | One of the worst things that has happened to me in my adult life happened just the other day. On the east coast have have been getting a lot of snow so I was out being the man of the house and shoveling off our walk when I stooped to pick up a particularly heavy lump of snow when something happened in back. It was extremely painful and I barely made it back inside. I had heard of a slipped disk before , but I didn't know it was a misnomer and it is actually called spinal disk herniation or so the doctor told me later that week. The treatment he described to me involved some surgery and some major time out of work for recovery ,but luckily I had a friend that has had the same problem and healed himself using an inversion table. I decided to give this alternate method a shot because even though I was in intense pain I really wanted to avoid surgery. He lent me his table which hangs you upside down and allows space to be created in between the vertebrae created by gravity to relieve the pressure and allow the back to realign itself. Maybe it was a fluke , but after about a half hour hanging I started to feel a bit better. I did this for a few days and I seem pretty much healed for now. I hope it keeps up and i can avoid surgery. So if any one else has this problem they should definitely give an inversion table a shot it might be a real savior. |
