Case Summary  |  Swollen lymph Nodes

Condition General Swollen Lymph Nodes Above Collar Bone
Case Description

I'm 26 years old. On sept '09 one fine evening I felt a swollen lump just above my collar bone. Lump was rubbery & movable. It literally freaked me out . I scheduled appointment then doctor said it might be due to some infection & put me on antibiotics for a week. Lumps did not reduce in size. Later a CT scan was done with IV contrast, which showed lump was about 1 cm.

After about a week I underwent a needle biopsy, but with no conclusion. Doctor suggested me to undergo excisional biopsy to rule out lymphoma. Which I agreed to cause nodes where increasing in number. Operation was done in Hackensack Medical Center. Reports indicated may be due to auto immune disorder. After that doctor ran around 12 tests to find out what exactly was it. negative result for every test.

Later on I developed anxiety due to un diagnosable condition. From Dec '09 nodes are increasing in number . now all over my neck & below chin. Even have tracheal pressure most of the time. And little chest pain. I did check with 4 other doctors for this condition but no answers yet & just had expression of I'm over reacting.

On feb 2010 I had bad cold. Sinusitis was detected. Now I'm on steriods & antibiotics again. Still I have tracheal pressure every day & also lumps on side hurts sometimes.

No idea what next is coming up.

Lymph nodes where about 1 cm when I went to doctor. He put me on antibiotic for a week & scheduled CT Scan after 2 weeks. Antibiotic dint help. later suggested me to go for excisional biopsy to rule out lymphoma. Results came negative. Still doctors unable to diagnose
