Back Lower (Lumbar) Sacroiliac Joint Treatment
Sacroiliac Joints are where sacrum (spine)and ilium (pelvis) attach. Their main function is to transmit forces between the legs and upper body. Pain in this joint may be the result of injury or inflammation.
The pain is similar to sciatica. Sacroiliac pain is often described as a pain that is felt in the lower portion of the back and hip. In some cases it may travel down the legs or around to the front, in the groin area.
The sacroiliac joints are often affected by types of arthritis referred to as spondyloarthropathies. Anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen and naproxen, are commonly used to treat the pain and inflammation in the joint. You may limit your activities in order to give rest to your back.

I have had sacroilliac joint pain on my right side since I was a teenager, at least 30 years now. I have a problem with my right ankle that causes me to walk with a limp. I was told this is the probable reason for the stress on the sacroilliac joint. It hurts all of the time, to varying degrees, ....
Bed rest, walking and biking do not help at all, and can make it worse. Pain medication only helps if the pain wasn't that bad to begin with. Analgesic rubs like icy hot are totally useless..
