Fainting is a temporary loss of consciousness. One loses muscle control at the same time, and may fall down. Most people recover quickly and completely.
Fainting happens when one's brain does not get enough oxygen. It happens when blood pressure drops suddenly, causing a decrease in blood flow to the brain.
Fainting (also called syncope) can be caused by many different things: Heat or dehydration; emotional distress; drop in blood sugar; heart problems and etc.
