I was experiencing pain and tenderness in my upper thigh area on the outside area of the thigh. It was quite painful and the pain was worse with movement. Following the doctor's orders helps reduce the pain to a managable level.

I still have some pain in my hip in the area of the Bursitis. But the cortisone injection and the Motrin to provide a great deal of relief. My doctor suggested I get a cortisone injection to help with inflammation. And to take Motrin because it is an anti-inflammatory.

I've had bursitis for three years getting cortisone injections about three times year. They are generally successful. Just make sure that they doctor is experienced. One of my injections did not work out well. I also use ice and anti inflamatorories when it acts after the injection wears off.

When I got my first cortizone injection I felt great. About three months later the pain came back.The doctor did not recommend the second injection. Nowthe pain is even worse. I also had a partial knee replacement done which did not help the pain at all.
