I have been suffering from hip bursitis for years. I find that rest and ice are the only things that really help when it flares up. After flare up subsides need to return to normal activities very gradually.

Several years of conservative treatment did not bring any good results.

Icing did not help, the pain remained the same. Taking the prescription drug Celebrex did not do much difference either.
