I was experiencing pain and tenderness in my upper thigh area on the outside area of the thigh. It was quite painful and the pain was worse with movement. Following the doctor's orders helps reduce the pain to a managable level.

I am in and out of this condition for several years already. What helps and what does not helpvaries individually. I can givetwo points ofadvice for those who are going through this: a lot of rest, don't overdo anything; and physical therapy. Cortisone injections did not do much for me.

I have been suffering from hip bursitis for years. I find that rest and ice are the only things that really help when it flares up. After flare up subsides need to return to normal activities very gradually.
