Internal Minimal Change Disease of Kidney Treatment
Minimal Change Disease (MCD) is a kidney disease in which amounts of protein is lost in the urine. Each kidney is made of more than a million units called nephrons, which filter blood and produce urine.
In minimal change disease of kidney there is a damage to the tiny blood vessels inside the nephron. The disease gets its name because this damage isn't visible under a regular microscope. It can only be seen under an electron microscope.
Some symptoms are the following: Swelling (especially around the eyes, feet, and ankles, and in the abdomen); weight gain (from fluid retention); foamy appearance of the urine and etc. Many patients do find steroids effective in treating this disease.
