Knee Articular Cartilage Damage Treatment
Articular cartilage damage is often the cause of stiffness, decreased range of motion, joint pain and swelling in the affected area. Articular cartilage is the cartilage that covers the articular surfaces of bones (those surfaces that come into contact with other bones). Cartilage allows for the smooth interaction between two bones in a joint.
Articular cartilage has no direct blood supply, so it has little or no capacity to repair itself, it is very slow to heal if injured.
