Leg Edema Swelling Treatment
Edema is a swelling that is caused by fluid trapped in the body’s tissues. Edema usually happens in the feet, ankles, and legs. Other parts of the body, such as the face and hands, can also be affected. Edema is formerly known as dropsy or hydropsy.
In order to keep swelling down you may keep your legs raised when sitting, wear support stockings, limit quantity of salt you eat or take a medicine called a diuretic (water pill).
