Skin Molluscum Contagiosum Treatment

Molluscum contagiosum is a viral skin infection that causes raised, pearl-like papules or nodules on the skin.

Molluscum contagiosum lesions may persist from a few months to a few years. These lesions ultimately disappear without scarring, unless there is excessive scratching, which may leave marks. The virus can spread through contact with contaminated objects, such as towels, clothing, or toys. The virus also spreads by sexual contact.

Bumps appeared on my legs a few years ago which would erupt into a painful blister. These were diagnosed by a dermatologist as molluscum contagiosum. They were treated with cryotherapy, but they never fully went away. The doctor also suggested using Aldara cream to treat, which will heal individual bumps but it also hasn't stopped the spread of the disease..
 Helped a little

Went in for cryotherapy but it did not get rid of all the bumps

 Helped a little
Put on bumps as directed, healed existing bumps but didn't prevent the spread to other locations..
