Cortisone Injection

Cortisone is a steroid hormone. The purpose of cortisone injection is to reduce inflammation in a specific area which can relieve pain.
Some people react very positively to the injection while others do not feel its effects. If the injection helps the first time, most people continue with more injections. If the injection does not help the first time, the most people do not pursue the second injection.

Cortisone Injection for Hip Pain

I had pain in my hip for a number of years. It got bad enough that I could not walk more than half a mile. After an MRI, doctor recommended a cortizone shot. It was extremenly painful but it relieved my hip pain.
