Mobic is a brand name of Meloxicam. It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), it can reduce inflammation and pain associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis (arthritis caused by a breakdown of the lining of the joints), rheumatoid arthritis (arthritis caused by swelling of the lining of the joints) or Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (a type of arthritis that affects children). Mobic may also be used to treat other types of short-term pain.
Meloxicam is in a class of medications called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by stopping the body's production of a substance that causes pain, fever, and inflammation.
