Heat Therapy
Heat therapy, also called thermotherapy, is the application of heat to the body for pain relief and health. Heat therapy involves exposing part or all of the body to high temperatures. Heat can be used in different forms to help relieve joint or muscle pain due to arthritis, injury, or inflammation. Heat therapy can be used for the treatment of headaches and migraines.
Heat may work by improving circulation and relaxing muscles. Heat therapy is most commonly used for rehabilitation purposes. The increased blood flow to the affected area provides proteins, nutrients, and oxygen for better healing.
