Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is used to treat injuries (e.x. tendinitis, neck pain, sprains, lower back pain and so on); chronic diseases, such as arthritis, osteoarthritis; patients who require muscle conditioning and strengthening after surgery. Physical therapy uses a wide variety of procedures to restore function to the body, reduce pain and help prevent future injury.

Physical therapy is performed by a physical therapist (PT). Physical therapists use many different techniques to help you decrease pain, stiffness, improve motion and strength, and mobility. Physical therapy is a type of treatment you may need when health problems make it hard to move around and do everyday tasks. It helps you move better and may relieve pain. It also helps improve or restore your physical function and your fitness level. The goal of physical therapy is to make daily tasks and activities easier. It may help with walking, going up stairs, getting in and out of bed.

Physical therapy may be used alone or with other treatments. It can help with recovery after some surgeries.

Physical therapy is not alternative therapy. It is a clinical health science. Physical therapists study medical science subjects in order to acquire the health education needed for diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation of patients with physical problems.

My doctor found a loose piece of cement in my knee joint, which he removed along with 3 other ...

After some x-rays and tests I was diagnosed with severe bursitis and the complication of two bone spurs. I have been told that surgery will end up being the only option but ...

Twenty-five years of running and being pulled along by two large dogs wore away my left hip joint. Scoliosis didn't help. I toughed it out for years with physical therapy and yoga, and finally had to have my hip totally replaced. I wasn't happy, but I got a great result and I can hardly remember it isn't mine, except when ...
